April 20, 1999 Our Atlanta production machines went offline from approximately 2am CDST, Sunday, April 18, 1999 due to a water main break flooding a Bell South central office causing major damage to Bell's circuits and equipment. Last week, we met with our provider to map backup and recovery plans for local loop, server, and software failures (minor failures). Once Bell's service is restored and we complete our testing of network connectivity; we'll reopen the backup plans to incorporate major network failures. Credits are being calculated for all customers. Although every effort is made to provide availability on a 24x7 basis, some outages are unavoidable and/or beyond our control. In these situations, every effort will be made to restore service as quickly as possible and accounts will be credited for twice the outage. Example: a one day outage translates into a two day credit. Use of our services absolve Hostville and/or it's partners from any further liability associated with outages, including lost sales. |
